Why Give to BDHH?

The Bishop Dudley House serves the most vulnerable people in our community. This is often the last beacon of hope after all other opportunities have been exhausted. Guests who walk through these doors are welcomed with Open Doors and Open Arms.  Guests are treated with dignity and respect. They are assessed by our case management team and then connected to local resources that have the expertise to help them with their particular needs. These services are provided under one roof, here at Bishop Dudley House. We collaborate with numerous local agencies to provide our guests with the most comprehensive care to get them back to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.

Initially, the house was built as a temporary emergency shelter, and was predicted to be full during the coldest winter months. Reality, however, has shown us a different scenario. The Bishop Dudley Hospitality House operates at or over capacity every single night of the year. As our city grows, so has the needs of our community. This does not come without additional costs.

On average, 179 guests are served every day. It takes approximately $4,000 per day to operate the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House. Please consider a donation of time, in-kind goods or financial resources.
